EMBARQ (formerly Sprint)

EMBARQ provides local telecommunication services to the communities of Lawrenceburg, Aurora, Greendale, Dillsboro and Guilford. EMBARQ local telecommunications division serves approximately 11,000 residential acces lines and 5,000 business access lines in these four exchanges.

EMBARQ LTD's network in these communities includes state of the art switching and transport facilities.  This complex is served by a Lucent 5ESS host switch in Lawrenceburg with the latest software features.  Remote Switching Modules (RSM) are located in Aurora, Dillsboro and Guilford, providing the same features as the host office.  All three are connected by fiber cable and a combination of lSONET and asynchronous optronics.  Connections to other carriers are provided over a fiber route to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Midwest Data, Inc. (MDI)

MDI provides high speed (up to 108MB / sec) wireless connectivity with a network of towers located around Dearborn County.  Equipped with a combination of wireless bridges, routers, base stations and client units, the towers provide cost-efffective and high performance connectivity, as well as inter-branch communication.  Built-in ALC and AGC systems maintain consistent radio performance regardless of changes in weather, data traffic or long-term aging of the circuit elements.

 

The high end equipment in MDI's Lawrenceburg Computer Center can provide 3MB upload / 3MB download business internet service, email with spam and antivirus protection and web hosting.  The Computer Center includes a file server for every operating system supported by MDI - Windows NT server, Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server, Linux Red Hat and each version of NetWare.  MDI is able to perform pre-implementation test environments, disaster recovery and application support.  The Computer Center is protected by a site UPS for resilient uptime services.

Southeastern Indiana Rural Telephone Cooperative provides local telephone service and DSL to the community of Moores Hill and the surrounding rural areas in Dearborn and adjacent counties.  SEi was the area's first, local Internet Service Provider and continues to offer a variety of dial-up and high speed internet services in the area.
