Lawrenceburg, Indiana, is the county seat and the most populous city in Dearborn County with a population of 4,738. Founded in 1801 by Samuel C. Vance, the city was named in honor of the founder's wife, whose maiden name was Lawrence.
Located on the banks of the Ohio River, just 27 miles away from downtown Cincinnati, Lawrenceburg boasts an eclectic mix of the past and present. Historic buildings line downtown Walnut Street, which is within walking distance of the Argosy Casino and Hotel.

Lawrenceburg has a number of recreational and cultural facilities that provide year-round entertainment for county residents. The Lawrenceburg Speedway provides summer racing excitement while Perfect North Slopes draws skiers from across the tri-state in winter.
