The city of Greendale, IN, was established in 1852 by Stephen Ludlow. With a population of 4,345, it is the second most populous city in the county with an area of 5.81 square miles.
Greendale is located between two highways, US Route 50 and State Route 1, and Tanner's Creek. The city's advantageous location has attracted new businesses throughtout its history. The city has been the site of recent additions to the county, such as LaRosa's and the Greendale Cinema.
Greendale Employers
Greendale is home to many Dearborn County employers, many of which are housed near the Schenley Place Industrial Park. Gardens Alive!, housed inside the industrial park, is one of the largest mail order garden supply catalogs nationwide. Maxwell Construction, located on the fringes of the industrial park, has been responsible for much of the new development around the county.

Recreation and Events
Greendale's proximity to Lawrenceburg and Aurora provides a vast array of annual events in which to partake. The city also has a number of recreational facilities for residents.
