Aurora
Plotted in 1819 by Jesse Holman, Aurora was incorporated as a city in 1845 and is now the third most populous city in the county with a poulation of 4,063. Located on the Ohio River, the city has a history of boatbuilding, which encouraged city growth with the arrival of industrial businesses such as distilleries, foundries, and warehouses.
Present day Aurora has maintained its sense of history while attracting new businesses to the area. With the river as a focal point for local entertainment, Aurora remains a charming city with much to offer its residents.
Greendale
The city of Greendale, IN, was established in 1852 by Stephen Ludlow. With a population of 4,64, it is the second most populous city in the county with an area of 5.81 square miles.
Greendale is located between two highways, US Route 50 and State Route 1, and Tanner's Creek. The city's advantageous location has attracted new businesses throughtout its history. The city has been the site of recent additions to the county, such as LaRosa's and the Greendale Cinema.
Lawrenceburg
Lawrenceburg, Indiana, is the county seat and the most populous city in Dearborn County with a population of 4,791. Founded in 1801 by Samuel C. Vance, the city was named in honor of the founder's wife, whose maiden name was Lawrence.
Located on the banks of the Ohio River, just 27 miles away from downtown Cincinnati, Lawrenceburg boasts an eclectic mix of the past and present. Historic buildings line downtown Walnut Street, which is within walking distance of the Argosy Casino and Hotel.
